According to property experts Savills, London could soon see a surge in property investors after commercial properties were described as a unique property investment.
Describing the capital city as appealing to foreign investors, Matt Oakley of Savills believes overseas property investors will be most interested in the way the UK deals with landlord and tenant agreements.
Compared to other countries, insurance and maintenance costs are taken on by the tenant when it comes to commercial property investments. This means landlords are free from footing the finance for such bills, and are able to benefit from benefit cash flows.
And this could prove highly appealing, essentially offering overseas property investors a safe haven whilst the economy recovers.
Yet the UK commercial property market is not the only property location to witness a surge in investments. New York recently usurped the UK for having attracted the most commercial property investment during the third quarter of 2011.
