Buy to Let Boom Continue
A recent survey by property experts Assetz has revealed that 76.8% of UK property investors plan to expand their property portfolios in the next year.
With property investors citing high rental demands, rising rental prices and a belief that property prices are near rock bottom, as their main incentive for investing in property; this is great news for the property market which has seen fewer sales over the last 5 years.
But this is not all…Commenting on this research, Assetz believe property investors have now recognised the true potential of the property market and as such are now taking a ‘long term view of the property market’:
- 50% of property investors cited long-term capital gains as their main priority
- 44% of property investors are focusing on rental incomes
- 6% revealed that they are hoping to benefit from short-term capital growth
And with base interest rates remaining at an all time low of 0.5%, property investors shouldn't experience any problems expanding their property portfolios.
According to Assetz, 45.9% of those surveyed are already achieving gross rental yields of more than 5.5%, whilst 19.4% are achieving 9% yields and higher.
